Thanks for mentioning www.edocr.com. Hope you managed to attend the event and learned bit more about edocr and other companies who presented.

The idea behind edocr is to give life to those documents published on to corporate websites. This is achieved through interactivity, which is not possible through corporate websites.

Happy to explain any aspects of edocr.

Best regards, Manoj

Hi Manoj, yes I'm clearer on edocr now that I've seen the presentation which I have now added to this post. Cheers...Piers

The only similarities I see between Serena's Business Mashup solution and Yahoo pipes and Popfly is that they all provide a simple graphical design capability for mashing "something" up. The Serena Business Mashup suite combines best practices from 3 trends in the market into a single simple solution that can potentially be used by any business person without the help of IT. The trends are Web 2.0, SOA, and BPM. In fact the tool combines the power of a business process workflow tool with an SOA based composite application builder (combining SOA components into a new SOA component executed as BPEL process)and all this is provided in a very simple to use design tool that does not require low level programming. If you want to learn more, either send me an email, check me out at XING (I created a group on Business Mashups) or check the Serena website (serena.com)

regards,
Eddy

Thanks for clarifying some of the detail on serena Eddy. I still think that the description of a yahoo pipes for business is not that far off. I understand that under the bonnet you are pulling together process workflow / applications etc but to the end user what they are going to be interested in is the ability to mashup their corporate data easily with a simple interface. From my experience technology companies can have a tendency to concentrate on all the interesting (to them) techie stuff that they have to do in order to build something and can be very light on explaining the benefit to the end user. That's just a personal opinion of course. Good luck with the new product I hope it goes well for you. Cheers....Piers
